Email us: info@teachpath.com

Where are your classes?

Our headquarters is in North Carolina, but we travel throughout the country to conduct corporate training and open enrollment classes. We will be happy to accommodate your small group, large group, or individual training needs. For fifteen years, we also provided the PMP training for the Wake Technical College Business and Industry Center in Cary, NC, but are now at various locations throughout the state instead.

Is there a minimum number or maximum number of students you can accommodate?

Any size group can be accommodated, but of course group discounts may be available for larger groups.

Why get PMP® certified?

Fortune magazine calls project management the number one career choice. Project management skills rise above industry-specific boundaries to create unlimited opportunities. Companies are convinced that implementing project management best practices will save large amounts of time and money while producing higher quality, decreased risk, and increased customer satisfaction.

An article in Tech Republic states that PMP® certification is now in high demand. Clients are specifically requesting PMP® certified individuals for their projects.

CertCities recently identified the PMP® as one of the hottest certifications. The PMP® designation symbolizes knowledge and accomplishment, and is highly regarded by colleagues and employers, demonstrating that you possess a solid foundation of experience and education that can have a positive impact on bottom-line results.

PMP® certification is the project management profession's most globally respected credential. Worldwide, PMPs provide project management services in over 120 countries. Many corporations require certification for advancement within the company, or even for initial employment.

What types of industries require PMP® certified project managers?

Project management certification & skill sets are transferable to every type of industry. IT, biotech, accounting, banking, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, construction, hospital management, government, public utilities, and research are just a few.  Employees from the following companies have been enthusiastic about our classes: IBM, Bayer, Quintiles, SAS, Glaxo, Nortel, Progress Energy, EPA, USDA, SunTrust Bank, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, & many more!

When should I take the PMP® exam prep course?

As EARLY as possible in your certification preparation process. The longest part of the certification process is studying to absorb the massive amounts of material contained on the exam. (Many experts suggest well over100 hours of study time, but you will save a great deal of time by taking the class early, learning all of our memory tricks and testing tips, & narrowing your focus.) If you desire intensive training in the project management processes, wanting to learn & review a lot in a short period of time, our exam prep class is for you.

Project management tasks are sometimes performed by other departments (procurement, etc.), and sometimes by people given tasks without training. This course will fill in the missing pieces, formulas, terms, end-to-end processes, etc. as it prepares you for the certification exam.

Do I have to take a class before I sit for the PMP® exam?

As of March 2002, 35 hours of formal project management instruction is required before you can apply to sit for the exam. This class completely fulfills that requirement.

Are there Prerequisites?

There are no prerequisites for the PMP® exam prep class itself, but to become certified, you must have:

1) 35 hours of instruction (this course fullfills that requirement)

2) verify to PMI® the required amount of experience

3) pass their exam

(See their website for more information http://www.pmi.org/.)  (Look for the “handbook” download.)

You must have the instruction before you submit the experience verification, & most people find it helpful to take the class very early in their certification process.

Do I have to be a project manager to become a PMP®?

You do not have to have the title of project manager. Many people lead and direct portions of a project without having a particular title. See the PMI® website for more details.

Do I have to work in a particular industry to be a PMP®?

No. The valuable knowledge gained by becoming a PMP® transfers well to all industries.

What’s on the PMP® exam?

The beginning foundations are found in the PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge), but not all of the questions on the exam are taken from the PMBOK®. Quite a few are taken from other sources. Our expertly researched curriculum fills in the gaps and adds material that is often found on the exam, but is not in the PMBOK®.

Where can I find information about certification requirements?
